Paksitan: The Provincial Minister for Industries, Commerce and Investment (ICI) presiding over a meeting of Steering committee of Quid-e-Azam Apparel Park (QAAP) to review work progress on the project said that QAAP near Shekhupura is vital in boosting the textile industry of Pakistan as it will provide massive economic activity and employment opportunities in the sector. The minister said that the QAAP is a flagship project of Punjab government and Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif wants to make it an international hub for the textile industry and trade. The completion of the project within the given timeline should be top priority of the departments concerned.
QAAP said that a consultant firm from Singapore has been selected, will start work after terms and conditions are settled. They added that the work on Motorway Interchange, realignment of Sheikhupura drain and construction of front road will be completed this year, while LESCO had to complete realignment of 132 KVA power line by the end of this month.
