Mumbai: Synthetic & Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) of India, an apex body of manufacturers and exporters of man-made fibres (MMF) textiles, in association with the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General of India in Dubai is organizing an exhibition in Dubai. At least 19 manufacturing or exporting companies from India are participating at the two-day textile exhibition starting February 19 with an aim to forge strategic alliance with importers in the UAE. A wide array of products such as suiting, shirting, furnishing materials, home textiles, made-ups, and apparels will be put up for display at the exhibition.
The Middle-East countries has emerged as a leading destination for India’s MMF textiles exports with a share of 29 per cent (US $ 1,709.65 million), followed by Asia at 25 per cent (US $ 1,474.02 million) and the quality-conscious European Union at 20 per cent (US $ 1,170.66 million). Additionally, synthetic and rayon (MMF) textiles worth US $ 5,790 million were exported from India to more than 150 countries during 2015-16.
