Mumbai: IKEA is exanding its retail footprint in the Central Europe region. The home furnishing giant is all set to open its maiden store in the capital of has plans to inject around Euros 90 million in the construction of its first ever Slovenia, Ljubljana. Around 300 jobs will be created in the region with this expansion. As per media reports, the store is expected to be operational by 2019.
The home furnishing retailer already has stores in the neighbouring countries of Slovenia including Italy, Austria, Hungary, and Croatia. Currently, IKEA runs around 400 stores in 48 countries across the globe. Its total workforce stands at 1,72,000. The company is aggressively expanding to mark its presence in every corner of the world, be it India, Malaysia or now Slovenia.
