Gujrat: The State Government of Gujarat, India has allocated a grant of Rs. 10 crore for traditional handicrafts. The allocated budget would be used for supporting and encouraging unique crafts such as Kutchi, Patola and Bandhani works, and others. This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, who also holds the finance portfolio.
A special package of Rs. 1,000 crore has been allocated for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State Budget for 2017-18. Gujarat is home to around 3 lakh registered MSME units known for providing large-scale employment.
The special package offers enhanced assistance to MSMEs for market development, technology acquisition, raising finance through SME exchanges, additional assistance for power connections and capital and rental charges.
