Mumbai: C&A Foundation, the corporate foundation of global apparel retailer C&A, has collaborated with the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, to develop and promote organic cotton production sector in the country. The Association eyes to increase sustainable cotton farming from current 30,000 hectares to 75,000 hectares by 2021.Mumbai: C&A Foundation, the corporate foundation of global apparel retailer C&A, has collaborated with the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, to develop and promote organic cotton production sector in the country. An event named ‘Cotton Trailblazers’ was organised to highlight the global leadership in organic cotton production of Madhya Pradesh in the capital city Bhopal. Stakeholders were urged to work jointly to make a prosperous value chain for organic cotton by quickly addressing the challenges faced by the sector. An organic cotton research institute in Khandwa will also be set up by the Government. A dedicated agriculture produce and export promotion agency will also be established in the state that will work to boost organic cotton export.
